This position is responsible for negotiation and contracting of, large physician groups, including Clinically Integrated Systems, hospitals (large independent hospital systems, integrated & non-integrated), and ancillary facilities to include value-based contracting, etc.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience    

Experience:
5 years of hospital or Clinically Integrated System contracting experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of contracting experience OR 8 years of business experience, including 4 years of provider contracting experience. Contracting experience involves negotiating reimbursements, contract language, alternative payment models, and rates.   

Special Skills:
Expert knowledge of provider reimbursement methodologies such as Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), DRGs, and OPPS. Ambulatory Surgery Center Groupers, Performance Based Contracting, Capitation, Bundle Payment, and other alternative payment programs. Excellent communication/presentation skills with both internal and external audiences.

Essential Duties
Negotiate and contract large physician groups, including Clinically Integrated Systems, hospitals (large independent hospital systems, integrated & non-integrated), and ancillary facilities to include value-based contracting. Develop and maintain relationships with these types of providers. Ensure strategic coverage and meet adequacy standards for commercial, IVL, and Medicare Advantage plans.  Provide subject matter expertise to improve efficiencies and results. 
Maintain and enhance strong provider relationships built on trust and collaboration and provide subject matter expertise to improve efficiencies and results. 
Maintain thorough knowledge of the markets served and work closely with the Sr. Manager of Network Strategy to be familiar with market intelligence to support negotiation and contracting activities.  
Ensure strategic objectives are being met concerning physicians, physician groups, and facilities
Ensure appropriate provider services, including working across departments to resolve issues.  
Serve as a mentor/teacher regarding the activities of staff.
