Responsibilities

The Operations Data Analyst supports the Laboratory Services Department by organizing all departmental analytics related to clinical operations, finance, and inventory management. Primary responsibilities include pulling reports for internal and external audits, addressing KSC data requests, and analyzing data and informatics to support strategic development of projects that improve laboratory clinical processes and patient outcomes. The analyst will also assist in the design and development of data collection strategies, aggregation, analysis and reporting to other departments as assigned – such as Finance, Risk Management, and Employee Health & Safety. The Operations Data Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of KSC, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Salary Range: $68,827 – $85,030 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area, or equivalent work experience

Preferred: Master’s in business administration, health administration, or other health related fields

Experience

Required: Four (4) years or more years of direct inventory control management and logistics experience in a clinical environment – ideally to include complex laboratory inventories. 2+ years’ experience with SQL or other programming tools (including Visual Basic and Excel macros) in a health-related position. Degree will account for years of experience on a 1 to 1 basis.

Preferred: Previous experience working in project coordination, program coordination, or data analysis.

Special Skills

Required: Manages and processes reports, in collaboration with Project Manager; verifies collection, validation, completeness, and accuracy of data collected from all sources by utilizing ICD-9-CM, CPT and other coding entities; analyzes benchmarks, interpret and organize data to facilitate targeted clinical interventions aimed at improving the quality of patient care and assists with the planning, developing, extracting and analysis of data for NCQA, HEDIS, and PQRI programs; conduct analysis of data, including but not limited to, appropriate statistical analysis of aggregated data results between measurement cycles.

Working knowledge of statistical process control, performance improvement, management of large databases, and data analysis. Experience writing, debugging, and documenting complex queries against relational databases. Proficient in MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint. Has report writing capability with experience in SQL-based report writing software such as Crystal Reports. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills to include PowerPoint and advanced Excel and database management. Basic understanding of accounting concepts, project management, and supervisory and performance management.

Preferred: Experience with Statistical Software (including SAS, R, Minitab, SPSS). Familiarity with EPIC and Clarity reporting data warehouse. Knowledge of Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access, or SSRS.
