The Mammography Technologist will utilize equipment which produces ionizing radiation to obtain radiographs for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Imaging services vary by site, therefore, rotation through general diagnostic radiography using fluoroscopic and/or digital radiography systems and/or conventional radiography units utilizing CR technology as well as DEXA bone density studies and performance of stereotactic guided biopsies may be required depending on location. The Mammography Technologist will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes and designated PACS system for stereo tactic and DEXA studies.

Salary Range: $68,889.60 to $85,113.60 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications

 

Education

 

Required: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited program. 

Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology

 

Preferred: Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology

 

Experience

 

Required: 40 hours mammography training approved by the ARRT to meet the minimum initial FDA & TDH requirements for mammographers

 

Preferred: Previous experience as a mammography technologist 

Experience performing stereotactic guided breast biopsies

MRT-General Certificate

Current BCLS issued by the American Heart Association

 

Preferred: ARRT (R)(M)

 

 

Special Skills

 

Required: Ability to use computer keyboard

Working knowledge of mammography quality assurance measures and accreditation requirements

 

Preferred: RIS experience

 

 

Other

 

Required: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

 

Preferred: Bilingual
