The Mammography Technologist will drive the mobile coach to and from assigned locations and will utilize equipment which produces ionizing radiation to obtain radiographs for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. When the mobile coach is not traveling, the Mammography Technologist will cover the Main Campus or other locations when needed. Imaging services vary by site, therefore, rotation through DEXA bone density studies and performance of stereotactic guided biopsies may be required depending on location. The Mammography Technologist will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes and designated PACS system for stereotactic and DEXA studies.

Qualifications
Education
Required: High School diploma or GED from an accredited program. Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Preferred: Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology
Experience
Required:
Mammography Tech I- Mobile:
40 hours mammography training approved by the ARRT to meet the minimum initial FDA & TMB requirements for mammographers
2-years’ experience in mammography or 1-year KSC experience in X-ray and/or SCNB experience.
Mammography Tech II- Mobile:
40 hours mammography training approved by the ARRT to meet the minimum initial FDA & TDH requirements for mammographers
3-years’ experience in mammography or 1-year KSC experience in mammography quality control
Preferred: Experience performing stereotactic guided breast biopsies and/or DEXA

Required: ARRT (R)(M)
MRT- General Certificate
Current BCLS issued by the American Heart Association
Special Skills
Required: Ability to use computer keyboard
Working knowledge of mammography quality assurance measures and accreditation requirements
Preferred: RIS experience
Other
Required: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel with mobile mammography coach to any location (within the Houston area) as scheduled.
