Support the strategic direction for KSC enterprise information technology security framework as set by the Manager of Enterprise Information Systems Security. Support systems and devices that enforce compliance with the Health Information, Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security regulations, and that reduce KSC’s overall security exposure.
Assists with periodic security reviews, risk assessments, and compliance testing for enterprise and desktop systems. Provides expertise in the development and implementation of appropriate security systems of hardware and software. Ensures that services provided by other enterprises, including outsourced providers, are consistent with established information security policies.
IT Security Analyst II
Location: Pearland Administrative Office

Salary Range: $89,148.80 to $110,115.20 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Qualifications
Education
Required: 4 year degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Advanced degree; Security certifications such as CISSP or SANS GIAC highly preferred.
Experience
Required: 4 years of information security experience. Experience using tools such as Nessus, NMap, TCPdump, Ethereal, Metasploit, Surfcontrol, Websense, Proofpoint, Trendmicro, Sourcefire, Experience managing and configuring IPS/IDS such as TippingPoint and Snort. Preferred: Knowledge of Citrix, Cisco routers, and firewalls. Prior experience in the health care industry and working knowledge of HIPAA and other applicable legislative regulations.
License(s)
Required: Valid Texas driver’s license and current liability insurance coverage.
Special Skills
Required: Proven communication and problem solving skills. Extensive knowledge of LAN, WAN, desktop and desktop application security practices. Must have strong analytical and technical problem solving skills.
Preferred: Knowledgeable of NetIQ Security Manager, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Trend Micro anti-virus products. Experience working as a member of a security incident response teams and in mitigating outbreaks and malicious activity.

Required: Must be willing to be on call for after hours support on both weekends and holidays as needed.
