Responsibilities

The Operating Room Materials Coordinator is responsible for ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in the Operating Room. The Operating Room Materials Coordinator will maintain accurate records of repairs made and follows up with customers on work performed or scheduled. This position provides support and training to clinical operators on the correct setup and operation of patient care equipment. Additionally, the OR Material Management Coordinator supports the daily business operations of the operating room by reviewing equipment, implant usage, evaluating par levels, coordinating surgical equipment for upcoming cases, evaluating processes, and managing workflows for cost savings. The Operating Room Materials Coordinator, in collaboration with the OR Supervisor and Director of Nursing, will determine capital request needs for future growth and expansion, as well as keep current equipment up to date.

Salary Range: $55,268 – $68,272 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications

Education

Required: Associates Degree or equivalent work experience. 

Preferred: Bachelors, CPM, or equivalent.

Experience

Required: 3 years experience in Multi Specialty OR as a Surgical Tech

Preferred: ASC experience- Five years experience in multi-specialty operating rooms, purchasing and/or 

 

management.

License(s)

Special Skills

Required: Computer skills, Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel,

 

Knowledge of surgical preference cards.

 

Materials management software knowledge, ie. Lawson, McKesson

Preferred: Advanced knowledge of Materials management software knowledge, ie. Lawson, McKesson, Epic

 

Advanced knowledge of Excel and Database program.

Other 

Required: Effective communication skills, critical thinking skills regarding surgical supply usage, in- depth 

 

knowledge of surgical equipment and supplies. 

 

Ability to multi task and have excellent organizational skills.

Preferred: Direct experience with Lawson Materials Management software.

 

Working Environment: Office
