Responsibilities
Analyze current coding data trends and educational needs to support the Coding improvement department in designing relevant training programs that focus of areas of concern and offer recommendations for improvement. Review denials and maintain current list of relevant coding changes. Research information, develop reporting tools, prepare presentations and provide administrative coordination of the department. Assist the Supervisor, Coding Improvement and Director, QI with all relevant meetings.

Salary Range: $44,761.60 – $55,307.20 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Qualifications
Education
Required: Associates degree health management related field or 2 years directly related experience in lieu of degree.
Preferred: Bachelors, Health Management related
Experience
Required: 3 years of health information analysis, including ICD 9, CPT code OR an associate’s degree in related field and 1 year of experience in health information analysis, including ICD 9 or higher CPT coding OR a bachelor’s degree and no experience.
Preferred: ICD-10 training, Epic System experience.
License(s)
Required: N/A
Preferred: CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.
Special Skills
Required: Strong data analytical, PC (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), research and organizational skills. Identifying trends and developing presentations. Development and designed of functional reporting tools
Preferred: Crystal Reports and SQL experience.
Other
Required: Demonstrated excellent problem solving, written and verbal skills.
