Responsibilities

The Clinical Educator – Cancer Services is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs to meet the educational needs of nursing services and the professional development of nursing staff. This position works collaboratively with the Cancer Services Leadership Team, and KSC Clinical Education as needed, to develop onboarding materials, training schedules, competency assessments, and continuing education curricula for nurses in the Hematology/Oncology and Infusion departments.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $85,550 – $105,685 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing or related

Experience

Required: 3 years clinical RN experience

2 years oncology experience

Preferred: Ambulatory care experience

Infusion therapy experience

License(s)

Required: Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas.

Preferred: N/A

Special Skills

Required: BLS

BLS Instructor certification within 1 year Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate course within 6 months of employment

Completion annually of 10 CEUs related to Oncology.

Preferred: ACLS

ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate

ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate

Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN)

Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI)

Other

Required: Ability to use mechanical devices, such as those used in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen administration,

and intravenous pumps

 

Proficient computer skills

 

Knowledge of chemotherapy and biotherapy administration

Required to travel to other KSC locations periodically.

Preferred: Experience with EPIC, Aria, and/or Beacon
