Responsibilities
This position will work collaboratively with the Infusion Pharmacy team and Cancer Services to implement and maintain the Beacon EPIC Module and Clinical programs for the Infusion Pharmacy. The Pharmacist should be certified in Beacon with a primary IT responsibility of building approved drug protocols into the Beacon system as well as guidance on best practice workflows for EPIC. Additional knowledge required for the position should include Sterile compounding, USP 797 workflows and Texas Pharmacy law. The clinical focus will be in Hematology/Oncology working closely with the physician team in monitoring patients on chemotherapy. They will be required to know oncology protocols and be responsible for verifying orders per protocols. Responsible for achievement of customer service and financial objectives; adherence to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold policies and procedures: and management of all assigned personnel including students. Manages inventory and over all cost of service provisions. Performs all of a registered pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers and distribution of clinic use pharmaceuticals.

Salary Range: $136,122 – $168,137 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Qualifications
Education
Required: Graduate from Accredited School of Pharmacy
Preferred: N/A
Experience
Required: 2-3 years hospital/ infusion pharmacy experience
3 or more years EPIC implementation Experience
IT – EPIC Beacon certified
Preferred: Strong chemotherapy and oncology background. Previous KSC experience. Previous experience with aseptic techniques.
EPIC Willow Certified.
Previous implementation of Beacon for an outpatient cancer center or infusion center.
License(s)
Required: Texas license Registered Pharmacist.
Preferred: N/A
Communicate
Required: Able to communicate with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, and inform and train about policies and procedures.
Able to communicate with physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patient care issues.
Able to communicate with customer and in clinic patients to handle complaints and problems, assist with questions, and recommend products/recommendations.
Preferred: Write reports (i.e., weekly/monthly) pertaining to accident/injury maintain logs, necessary infusion records.
Special Skills
Required: Proficient with EPIC EMR system specifically Willow.
Proficient in reporting in the Beacon system.
Proficient in Microsoft products.
Add. Subtract, multiply, and divide whole number and decimals to calculate infusion preparation dosages.
Preferred: Basic Cardiac Life Support
Other
Required: Stress Tolerance- to accurately prepare infusion medication within the required amount of time.
Professional appearance.
Preferred: Excellent people management skills.
